Eating is a multi-sensory experience full of tastes, smells, sounds and textures, but it’s not often that dinner is served in the dark to blindfolded patrons.
Dining in the Dark, a sensory journey that has visited 80 different cities around the world, will bring its blindfolded dinner to the City Club in Los Angeles. Starting from July 12 and running through Sept. 20 on select nights, guests will be invited to step into a darkened room, don a blindfold, and let their taste buds take the lead. This event will treat guests to a nine-course Peruvian dinner experience, all enjoyed in a candlelight ambiance.
By depriving you of sight with a blindfold, the chefs aim to create a unique dining experience that breaks the routine of everyday dining.

Based on the event’s Instagram pages, Dining in the Dark seems to cook up its menus based on the region’s culinary staples. For example, Boston, Massachusetts’ upcoming dates feature a seafood menu, while New York City’s event boasts Italian pastas and pizzas.
The upcoming Los Angeles event will ask guests to pick from a Red Menu (Meat), Blue Menu (Seafood) and the Green Menu (Vegan), all of which will be Peruvian dishes. The dinner also features a set drink menu designed to pair with the food, including beer, wine, and cocktails, which are available for additional purchase.
