A man was fatally stabbed early Sunday morning during a fight in a Belmont Shore restaurant. It was the second homicide in the popular shopping and dining district in as many months.

The stabbing happened around 1 a.m. Sunday inside Dave’s Hot Chicken Restaurant on the 5200 block of East 2nd Street, according to OC Hawk, a freelance news videographer.
Long Beach police said they found the man stabbed in the upper body. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.
The victim was stabbed by another male during a fight between two groups of people, police said in a news release. The man and some others then fled, according to a preliminary investigation.
Details about the man being sought and the circumstances surrounding the fight were not released.
The investigation is ongoing.
The homicide is the second one involving a fight in Belmont Shore in recent weeks.
On Feb. 18, Johnny Santos, a 32-year-old resident of Long Beach. was shot on the 5300 block of East 2nd Street, about a street from Sunday’s stabbing. Santos later died at a hospital.
Christopher Rene Salguero, a 24-year-old resident of San Pedro, was booked on suspicion of murder, discharging a firearm resulting in great bodily injury, and a pending felony charge out of Riverside County, Long Beach police said.
A motive for the shooting was not provided.
Police said they will have an additional presence in the area on Sunday, including patrol officers, detectives and a neighborhood safety bike team.
