A 44-year-old man was arrested this week on suspicion of shooting to death his roommate in Long Beach during an argument last month, authorities said.
Damion Videl Castro, 44, was found by police in the Hollywood area on Thursday, March 14, and taken into custody on suspicion of murder, prohibited possession of a firearm, prohibited possession of ammunition, a parole violation and a fugitive warrant, Long Beach police said.
Castro was in jail without the possibility of bail, police said.
Detectives said they believe Castro and his roommate, Jamie Jones, 36, argued for some reason in their home in the 2200 block of Chestnut Avenue in the early morning hours of Feb. 14 and that led to Castro shooting Jones in the chest.
Police were called just past 2:30 a.m.; Jones died at a hospital.
Police did not disclose how Castro was identified as the suspect and located.
Detectives also arrested a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of helping Castro avoid arrest, police said.
