A 4.6 magnitude earthquake was felt across Southern California Friday afternoon, Feb. 9, according to the USGS.
The quake was centered a few miles outside of Malibu near the coast. People reported feeling the quake as far as the Inland Empire and into south Orange County. There were several small, immediate aftershocks reported, the USGS website shows.
The earthquake happened just two hours after a 5.7 magnitude earthquake was felt in Hawaii.
