VAL VERDE — Two men were fatally shot and a woman was wounded in what investigators believe was a domestic murder-suicide in the Val Verde area near Castaic, sheriff’s officials said Monday.

Santa Clarita Valley Station deputies responded to the 28800 block of Paradise Road around 6:30 p.m. Sunday to reports of shots fired, and two men were found unresponsive with gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location, where they pronounced the two men dead at the scene and took a woman to a hospital in unknown condition.

“This incident appears to be domestic, and the suspect and victims were related,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

The Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau determined the shooting was an apparent murder-suicide.

“There are no suspects outstanding, and the weapon believed to be used was recovered at the scene,” according to the department.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting was urged to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
