In her roles at Black Love, Codie Oliver has made significant strides in upholding the company’s dedication to fostering a community centered on Black love and meaningful conversations. This is exemplified by the annual Black Love Summit, recently hosted in Atlanta for the sixth consecutive year. The summit celebrates diverse forms of Black Love with thought-provoking workshops, inspiring panels, and a rich array of programming designed to resonate with those in committed relationships, still searching for the right one, looking to strengthen their bonds with family and friends, and many others.
One of Oliver’s standout achievements is the impactful docuseries, Black Love, which she co-created and directed. This trailblazing series, honored with five NAACP Image Awards nominations, broke records by becoming the most-viewed unscripted series in OWN’s history. The series, spanning six seasons, portrays the complexities of Black love and relationships, leaving an undeniable mark on television and society.
