Excitement was in high gear for runners ages 3-8 participating in the LA Marathon’s ‘LA Big Half-K Kids Run’ on Saturday at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
About 600 children, running in waves by age groups, set off on the 1/4 mile course from Sunday’s 38th LA Marathon official starting line.
The run was an “out-and-back” course from start to a turn-around point and back to start. Parents had the option for one parent to run along with their child, especially for ages six and younger.
The fee to register was $15 and included a T-shirt, an official runner bib and a medal.
Saturday’s event also included the 8 a.m. ‘LA Big 5K,’ with about 7,000 runners, and a Health and Fitness Expo that was open to the public.
