Anaheim High celebrates its 125th anniversary today, March 16, with a celebration on campus.
There will be tours, student performances, the reveal of a 1998 time capsule recently unearthed and a new logo will be unveiled.
The celebration will be 5 to 7 p.m. at Anaheim High. Don’t miss the fun and come celebrate 125 years of Colonists’ history.
Also, Anaheim High alumni have regular monthly breakfasts at Mr. D’s, 126 E. Yorba Linda Blvd., in Placentia. The next is April 1. For more information contact Geri at [email protected]
Higher Ground open house
Higher Ground Youth and Family Services is inviting the community to see what new programs it is offering and to view its expanded campus during an open house on March 25.
Higher Ground has been addressing issues of gangs, poverty and struggles with educational achievement for more than 11 years. It serves youth ages 4 to 17, with a variety of programs including free counseling and therapy.
The Anaheim campus is at 1535 E. Broadway.
The open house will be 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a guided tour of the campus, treats along the way and Executive Director Joe Baldo will be speaking about future plans.
Higher Ground has partnered with the St John of Anaheim Philoptochos group from St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church on Dale Street in Anaheim. The ladies are proud to have committed to a two-year program of support for Higher Ground with donations, assistance with Higher Ground outreach and more. At the open house event they will be preparing appetizers and desserts for the attendees.

Ebell Club plans gatherings
Ebell Club is arranging an evening of painting and fun on April 8.
Gather with others and paint – all supplies will be provided – while sipping wine and enjoying appetizers. The 3 to 6 p.m. paint night is $35 a person. Reservations are required, call 714-776-6909.
