Red and blue lights flashed as President Joe Biden’s motorcade arrived at a rain-soaked LAX around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, after visiting Monterey Park, where he met with those impacted by the Jan. 21 mass shooting and formally unveiled an executive order aimed to reduce gun violence.
The president’s car pulled up right to the airstairs of Air Force One.
Amid wind and pounding rain, Biden swiftly got out of his black limousine – not taking an umbrella – and with caution made his way up the stairs to prepare for the final leg of his West Coast swing, which began Monday in San Diego.
At around 5:30 p.m. Air Force One took off into a foggy and rainy Los Angeles sky, bound for Las Vegas.
On Wednesday, March 15, Biden is expected to lay out details of his plan to lower prescription drug costs.
Update: Air Force One touched down at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport at 6:13 p.m.
