THE GAME: Max Muncy hit his first home run of the spring and the Dodgers beat the Cleveland Guardians, 11-3, on Monday afternoon at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.
PITCHING REPORT: Michael Grove gave up a first-inning home run to Will Brennan then ran into more trouble in the second and was lifted with two outs and two runs in. He re-entered in the third inning and retired the side in order. … Gavin Stone allowed an infield single and struck out three in 1⅔ innings. … Matt Andriese struck out all three batters he faced in the sixth inning and retired the side in the seventh.
HITTING REPORT: In wins over the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday and the Guardians on Monday, the Dodgers scored 19 runs on 28 hits, including seven doubles and five home runs. … Eddys Leonard hit a two-run home run Monday and is 9 for 22 this spring. … After starting the spring 2 for 19, Michael Busch had a home run in Sunday’s game and singles in each of three at-bats Monday. … Jonny DeLuca had a pair of singles and drove in two runs. … Hunter Feduccia was on base twice with a walk and an RBI single and took over the team lead with nine RBIs this spring.
PITCH CLOCK REPORT: Twice in Monday’s game, a batter was called out on strikes for a violation of the pitch clock – Guardians DH Zach Collins in the second inning and Dodgers DH J.D. Martinez in the fourth. The new rule requires batters to be in the box and “attentive” to the pitcher with eight seconds left on the clock.
