A renowned platform in Southern California known for bringing together some of the world’s most influential and inspiring figures is returning to its original home in Pasadena.
The Distinguished Speakers Series of Southern California, featuring a star-studded lineup including The Daily Show’s host Trevor Noah, will launch its 28th season in October across multiple locations, including Pasadena.
“Our mission is to offer audiences across Southern California a unique way to enjoy a monthly dose of inspiration and connection,” Kathy Winterhalder, co-owner of the company that produces the series, said in a statement.
After seven years at the Ambassador Auditorium, the show is returning to its original venue, Pasadena’s historic Civic Auditorium at 300 East Green St., where it began in 1997.
The program’s 2024-2025 series will run on six different evenings from October 2024 to May 2025. Each program is held on a weeknight at 7:30 p.m.
The series is available to the public exclusively through subscription packages, with prices ranging from $240 to $660 for premier seating for all six evenings. Single tickets are not available. Subscriptions can be purchased online at www.speakersla.com.
Noah will kick off the series in Pasadena on Oct. 16, where he will discuss his upbringing in apartheid South Africa, his barrier-breaking career, and his new book, “Into the Uncut Grass.”
On Nov. 20, best-selling author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell will take the stage to share insights from his forthcoming book, exploring bias, crime, food, marketing, race, consumers and intelligence.
CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta will continue the series on Jan. 15, 2025, with a discussion on the future of global health, the advancements in science, the impact of AI on healthcare, innovation in brain health and aging, and the challenges in medical breakthroughs.
