Here is a sampling of things to do in the San Fernando Valley and the greater Los Angeles area.

Grateful Hearts: The West Valley – Warner Center Chamber of Commerce presents the 15th annual event that includes a tri tip barbecue and chicken tacos cooked by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters and Los Angeles Police Department officers, a display of LAFD and LAPD vehicles, a classic car show, a disaster preparedness fair, a Los Angeles Public Library book mobile, a Play LA children’s area, appearances by LA Rams mascot Rampage, cheerleaders and special Rams guests, live bands including the band Action Figures, Woodland Hills Farmers Market, live and silent auctions, raffle drawings and vendors, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 6. Free admission and parking. Proceeds donated to LAFD Battalion 17 and LAPD Topanga and West Valley community police stations for essential items not covered by city of Los Angeles budgets). Chumash Day Powwow and Inter-tribal Gathering – Malibu: A celebration of Native American culture with ceremonies, dance and Chumash history storytelling, Native American artisan vendors  10 a.m.-6 p.m. April 6-7. Grand entry, noon both days. Free admission and parking. Use general parking and free shuttle at 23575 Civic Center Way (corner of Civic Center and Webb ways). Parking for people with disabilities, use parking and free shuttle at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road. There is no on-site parking at Malibu Bluffs Park. Day of the Horse: The 20th annual celebration of Chatsworth’s historic horse culture with horsemanship exhibitions, craft activities and vendor booths, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 7. Free admission. Free food (while supplies last). Non-event animals are not permitted….
