Love was in the air Thursday as dozens of couples tied the knot on Leap Day at Orange County Clerk-Recorder offices.
Overall, 180 couples made appointments to make the leap and get married at the offices in Anaheim and Laguna Hills and at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana – an uptick from about 100 on a typical day, said Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen.

Standing on the steps outside the old courthouse after their ceremony, Edwards sighed with relief.
“It’s been a long time coming,” she said, her arm around Lopez’s shoulder. “We’re glad it’s finally here.”
For Taylor Yeadon, getting married on Feb. 29 held special meaning not only because of the unique date, but also because it was her grandfather’s birthday.
