Dozens of vote centers — one-stop shops where you can cast a ballot, register to vote or find other help this primary election season — are now open around Orange County.
Nearly 40 vote centers opened on Saturday, Feb. 24, serving Orange County residents daily. And almost 150 more will open beginning March 2 — closer to the March 5 primary date.
While every registered voter in California receives a ballot in the mail that they can return by mail, voters can also cast their ballot in person at a vote center. But the centers, run by the Orange County Registrar of Voters, also serve as a place to get a replacement ballot, register to vote and find other general assistance. Some offer drive-thru options as well.
This first batch of vote centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 1. Then, as the second group of centers open, they will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until March 5, Election Day.
On Election Day, all vote centers, nearly 200 of them, will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A list of where the vote centers are located in the county is included in the voter information guides that were already mailed out and can be found on the Registrar’s website.
Aside from vote centers, you can return your ballot via the U.S. Postal Service or place it in one of the secure drop boxes scattered around Orange County.
