Emma Albor isn’t shy about dancing.
“I didn’t know him, but I liked the way he moved, so I just went and grabbed him and started dancing,” she said of Cristóbal Ramos, the two sharing a dance during a party at the Southwest Santa Ana Senior Center on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Albor and Ramos joined more than 150 other senior citizens as they danced and socialized during a Meals on Wheels Orange County-hosted lunch with dancing and a DJ to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Meals on Wheels offers a daily Lunch Café for adults ages 60 and older in 23 senior centers throughout the county. For Valentine’s Day they made their lunch a party.
Alejandro Lupercio, vice president of social services for Meals on Wheels, said that besides their traditional meal delivery program, they organize get-togethers to, “combat social isolation.”
