As the most nominated artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night, SZA made sure to deliver a memorable performance.
Coming out in a black trench coat, boots and a large hat, SZA wasted no time opening with her hit “Snooze” off the heavily-nominated “SOS” record. The camera then moved to an audience member holding a sword, showcasing her samurai on a table. The fighter then integrated into a group of dancers on stage, and she accompanied SZA in a performance for “Kill Bill,” inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s film.
SZA is currently up for nine awards, including album of the year for “SOS,” song and record of the year for “Kill Bill”, best progressive R&B album, best traditional R&B performance, best R&B song, best R&B performance, best melodic rap performance for “Low” and best pop duo/group performance for “Ghost in the Machine.”
The R&B star had already snagged two awards — for best progressive R&B album and best pop duo/group performance for “Ghost in the Machine” with Phoebe Bridgers — during the pre-show ceremony at the adjacent Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
