A San Fernando Valley man pleaded guilty to a federal charge of stalking on Monday, Jan. 29, and, authorities said, admitted to threatening a victim over 14 months and to saying he would shoot synagogues and “exterminate” Jewish and Asian American people.
From June 2021 to October 2022, Andre Morrow Lackner, of Northridge sent abusive text messages to the victim, using anti-Semitic remarks that included, “Hitler was right about you people,” and, “I will make sure I kill a Jew before I leave this Earth,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Lackner, 35, also sent the victim racist text messages against Asian Americans, stating that, “We need to start more Asian hate and wipe” Asian people “off the planet too,” authorities said.
The text messages caused the victim to become fearful of death or serious bodily injury to herself or one of her family members, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
“The defendant’s abhorrent words and actions caused his victim to experience fear of harm and death,” Donald Alway, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office, said in a statement. “The FBI urges victims of stalking to contact law enforcement to make a report.”
Lackner has remained in federal custody since December 2022.
He will appear back in court for his sentencing on June 3, facing a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.
