Arrests have been made in the Jan. 23 slayings of six people in a remote area of the San Bernardino County desert, the Sheriff’s Department said on Monday, Jan. 29.
No other information was immediately available.
The Sheriff’s Department has scheduled a news conference for 5 p.m. to provide further details.

The crime scene was about a mile north of Shadow Mountain Road and west of Highway 395 near the community of El Mirage. It is about 45 minutes north of Victorville.
On Jan. 23, at about 8:15 p.m., deputies responded to what they called a wellness check and found five bodies near two vans; one had bullet holes in it. There also was a fire.
A sixth body was found the next morning.
The identities of the dead, as well as the causes of death, had not been announced.
