Community meetings bring people together for exchange of ideas and memorable shared experiences. Here’s a sampling of events in the San Fernando Valley area.

 

Jan. 29

Congressman Brad Sherman Town Hall: The congressman, D-Sherman Oaks, discusses issues facing Congress, and  answers submitted questions, 7 p.m. Reservations requested. Granada Hills South Neighborhood Council: A board meeting is scheduled, 6:30 p.m. Granada Hills Charter High School, Rawley Hall, 10535 Zelzah Ave. ghsnc.org

Children reading to dogs – Teens Leading Change program at Platt Branch Library: The branch library’s own teen group, Platt’s Paw Protectors, holds an event for children to practice their reading aloud skills to an audience of three therapy dogs, 1-3 p.m. The program also includes a craft activity.
