Congratulations to Anaheim City Librarian Audrey Lujan who was recently named the 29th Senate District’s December 2023 Citizen of the Month.
Sen. Josh Newman, who represents the district, selected Lujan based on her decades-long distinguished career that has successfully led the Anaheim Public Library system to one of expanded and exceptional community services, officials said.
Some of the most recent accomplishments within the Anaheim Public Library and its 10 branch locations include launching a regional initiative for foster youths; organizing year-round cultural heritage festivals; implementing recreation and academic programs for all ages; as well as facilitating expanded weekend services at several locations.
Newman also cited Lujan’s commitment and leadership, which has amplified the impact of her creative staff enabling the Anaheim Public Library to better serve the needs and interests of the community, he said.
Lujan earned a master’s degree in library sciences from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has had a diversified career within a range of libraries. She credits her library staff and the community itself for their “out-of-the-box thinking and tireless support.”
Join the Ebell Club for a cooking experience
A special culinary program is planned during the 10 a.m. Feb. 5 general meeting of the Ebell Club of Canyon Hills, to be held in the Fellowship Hall at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church. All women in the community interested in learning more about the Ebell Club are invited.
Fourth Vice Presidents, Program Co-chairs Gayle Cornejo and Sue Shuckhart have arranged for the owner of Pho Vina Restaurant to teach Ebell members how to make spring rolls. The popular Vietnamese restaurant is located on La Palma Avenue in the Canyon Village Plaza.
