Ready for a tour of Pasadena? A soggy Sunday didn’t make for a very good day for sight-seeing.
Nonetheless, more than 15,000 people strapped on their running shoes — and their wet-weather gear — and did just that on Sunday, Jan. 21.
Amid persistent morning showers, the Rose Bowl Half Marathon & 5K returned to the city of roses and runners got a chance to lope through the city’s streets. Included along the way: The Colorado Street Bridge, Old Town Pasadena and Caltech.
The Rose Bowl stadium, home of the Granddaddy of all Bowl Games — as well as the thrilling college football championship semi-final this past Jan. 1 — provided the finish line.
The event included the iconic half-marathon race, as well as a 5-kilometer race and a special 1-2-kilometer walk-run for kids ages 3-8.
Hosting the event as usual was the McCourt Foundation and helps fund their efforts to cure neurological diseases.
