Sprouts Farmers Market will hold a grand opening Friday, March 3 for a new supermarket in Norwalk.
The 22,397-square-foot store, at 11522 Alondra Blvd., will employ 100 workers and will be the company’s 137th California location. Two more Sprouts locations are set to open this month in Merced and Stockton, and another Lancaster market will open in April., the company said.
Last year, Sprouts stores opened in Palmdale, Fountain Valley, Rancho Cordova and Lathrop.
A ribbon cutting for the Norwalk store will be held at 6:45 a.m. Friday and the doors will open at 7 a.m.
“The addition of Sprouts in Norwalk provides residents with a much-needed grocery store option and creates local jobs that contribute to the economic vitality of our community,” Mayor Ana Valencia said in a statement.
Guests who attend Friday’s opening or visit the store through Sunday will be treated to samples, and the first 200 shoppers on Friday and Saturday will receive a goodie bag. An interactive experience area will also give guests the chance to taste seasonal fruit, play games have their faces painted.
Customers who text “NORWALK” to 777-688 will receive 20% off their purchase when they scan their app account barcode at checkout. Using the app, shoppers can view Sprouts’ weekly ad and save more than $100 with digital coupons on grocery staples and new items every month, Sprouts said.
