A celebration of life will be held for Jonah “JJ” Edwards at 2 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Fullerton Arboretum on the Cal State Fullerton campus.
“As we gather to celebrate JJ’s life, let us remember the joy he brought to all of us, the friendships he cultivated and the magic he wove into the tapestry of our lives,” according to the Celebration of Life Facebook post. “In the midst of our grief, let us find solace in the memories of his laughter, the sparkle in his eyes and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.”

Edwards, 24, died by suicide on Nov. 15 at the Pixar Pals parking structure in the Disneyland resort.
The memorial event will remember Edwards as a son, brother, friend and former Disneyland Cast Member.
“Though Jonah may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever dance through the corridors of our minds, reminding us to embrace the magic of every moment and to cherish the bonds we’ve made with those around us,” according to the Facebook post. “In honoring his memory, let us continue to spread love, laughter, and a touch of enchantment — just as JJ did every day of his too-short but profoundly impactful life.”

Disneyland increased security and preventative measures at its parking structures after the third death by suicide in less than a year at the garage complex where thousands of visitors enter and exit the Anaheim theme park every day.
“In an effort to deter this type of tragedy, we have long had multi-layered security protocols in place at our parking structures, which we have substantially enhanced over time,” according to Disneyland officials. “However, as with all of our security and safety measures, we don’t discuss specifics so as not to compromise our efforts.”
