The UCLA men’s basketball team will look to snap its three-game losing streak when it hosts Maryland on Friday in a matchup against a future Big Ten opponent.
The Bruins are 7-2 all-time against the Terrapins, their most recent meeting an 87-60 Bruins victory Dec. 14, 2022, at the Xfinity Center. The last time UCLA hosted Maryland at Pauley Pavilion was in December 1981.

UCLA’s latest result: The Bruins are coming off a 76-72 loss at home to Cal State Northridge on Tuesday night. Freshman guard Sebastian Mack had a career-high 27 points and sophomore guard Dylan Andrews added a career-high 22 points but that was not enough to prevent the upset. UCLA trailed CSUN 45-26 with 18:10 left in the second half and used a 30-12 run over the next 11 minutes to pull within one. However, the Bruins never tied the game or took the lead, losing to CSUN for the first time since Nov. 21, 2000.
Maryland’s latest result: Maryland, from the Big Ten Conference, is coming off a 73-67 win at home against Nicholls on Tuesday. Senior guard Jahmir Young scored 23 points to help pull out the tougher-than-expected victory. Senior forward Donta Scott had 15 points and seven rebounds. Junior forward Julian Reese, who is averaging a double-double this season, finished with 9 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks.
Matchups to watch: Mack is averaging 15.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals in his first 10 games. Mack is the team’s leading scorer and his production against Maryland’s Jahmir Young, who is averaging 17.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists, will be worth watching.
