Officers booked Nathaniel Radimak, 36, of Los Angeles on suspicion of assault with deadly weapon, making criminal threats and vandalism, said Officer Roberto Gomez, a spokesman for the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP also seized a black 2022 Tesla Model X but didn’t say if Radimak had the car with him at the car wash.
Radimak is also a suspect in a similar incident that happened in Pasadena hours after the Jan. 11 road rage on freeway, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Keith Gomez. He has not been arrested for the Pasadena case.
When arrested, officers found out Radimak has two different warrants for making criminal threats, CHP Sgt. Alejandro Rubio said. One warrant was for $5 million and the other for $175,000.
Details about the crimes that led to the warrants from Los Angeles and Long Beach were not available.
Citing the ongoing investigation, a CHP officer from the Southern Division Major Crimes Unit declined to give details on how investigators identified Radimak as a suspect.
