Authorities Sunday urged commuters to plan ahead to avoid major delays caused by the closure of a stretch of the 10 Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles after it was damaged by a fire.
Metro Los Angeles provided information on train and bus routes, while Metrolink said it was beefing up train service in and out of Downtown Los Angeles.

Metrolink, in the meantime, said it would expand rail service on its San Bernardino Line between L.A. Union Station and the Covina Station.
Temporary roundtrip service will depart L.A. Union Station at 5:50 a.m., 8:08 a.m., 10:38 a.m., 1:38 p.m., 4:22 p.m. and 6:23 p.m. Service from Covina will depart at at 6:59 a.m., 9:11 a.m., 11:44 a.m., 3:11 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
“Additional service on Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line will help alleviate traffic congestion caused by the closure and provide travelers who need to access downtown Los Angeles a safe and convenient transit option to reach their destinations,” the agency said in a statement.
