Elected officials, community leaders and policymakers gathered on Friday, Oct. 6, for a grand opening of the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, or PACE, center in North Hollywood.
As California’s population grows older, PACE organizations like WelbeHealth offer comprehensive affordable programs for seniors with complex health issues who are willing to age at home in their communities. Funded through Medicare and Medi-Cal, WelbeHealth offers fully integrated care that allows seniors to age in place.
Friday’s event, which started at 10 a.m., was part of the expansion of affordable community-based health services in the underserved metro areas of North Hollywood. Guests enjoyed the performance of a Mariachi band and access to a free community health fair, health screenings and a tour of the new facility.
Among the guests were Rep. Tony Cárdenas (D-Pacoima), state Assemblymember Luz Rivas (D-North Hollywood) and WelbeHealth President Matt Patterson. Elected officials talked about the importance of providing health services to older adults.
The new center is located at 11633 Victory Blvd. Suite 100 in North Hollywood.
