A crash between two BMWs sent one of the vehicles crashing into a fire hydrant and light pole Monday morning at the Fulton Avenue entrance to Los Angeles Valley College in Valley Glen, sending water about 100 feet into the air and drawing firefighters and sheriff’s deputies to the scene.
The accident happened about 8 a.m. at Hatteras Street and Fulton Avenue, where cars enter the traffic circle that leads to parking lots and the center of the community college campus.
The vehicles involved were a BMW SUV and a BMW sedan.
A person at the scene said the sedan driver was helped out of the vehicle, and the occupants of the SUV exited on their own.
Los Angeles firefighters from nearby Station 102 were working on turning off the hydrant’s water supply.
Tow trucks were removing the final crashed vehicle — the BMW sedan — about 9:30 a.m.
