The big top for Circus Vargas was erected on Wednesday, Sept. 27 in the parking lot at the Promenade Mall in Woodland Hills, and passersby were wondering “what’s the show going to be like this time?”
The venerable circus presents its new show “Bonjour Paris!” with a Parisian-style flair and performers from around the world. Johnathan Lee Iverson, a classically-trained opera singer, introduces the acts.
Audiences thrill to stunt duo Patrick and Josue Marinelli’s “Wheels of Death” performance, are amazed by Daniella Quiroga’s contortion act and may consider taking up juggling after watching juggling by the Faltyny Family.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 29; 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30; 12:30, 3:30 and 7 p.m. Oct. 1; 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2; and various dates through Oct. 16. Tickets for ages 2 to 10, $25-$70; ages 11 to 59, $35-$80; ages 60 and older and military with ID, $30-$60.
Circus Vargas was founded in 1969 by Clifford E. Vargas. Katya and Nelson Quiroga, owners of the circus since 2005, lead the circus through 11 months of touring in California.
