Nordhoff Street Clean Up – Volunteers Cleaning Communities: Register to help clean up litter on an assigned section of the 11-mile-route, 9-11 a.m. Sept. 23. Bring your own gloves and water. Bags, grabber and tee-shirt will be provided. Registration is required. The route runs on Nordhoff Street, from the Chatsworth Nature Preserve, to Osborne Street in Arleta. Open Streets Festival – Move Your Way: The cities of Los Angeles and San Fernando present the closed-street event on San Fernando Road, from San Fernando, Pacoima and Sylmar, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 23. Participants follow the street, in either way, by using bicycles, skateboards, roller skates and other non-motorized conveyances or jogging, running, walking. Taste of Italy – Italian American Museum of Los Angeles: Tickets available for the event that includes food and wine tickets, demonstrations and live entertainment, 5-10 p.m. Sept. 23.
