Pets on parade gives San Juan Capistrano community a laugh

Dogs, birds, cows, horses … the animals San Juan Capistrano kids call pets were the stars of a parade this weekend.

The San Juan Capistrano Fiesta Association hosted its always popular Kids’ Pet Parade; it’s one of several community events held ahead of the bigger Swallows Day Parade and its accompanying Mercado Street Faire, which are coming up on March 25.

Also coming up are the El Presidenté Ball, a Western party under the stars on March 11; the Fiesta Grandé, a night of contests, including deciding the hairiest man, on March 22; the always hopping frog jumping contest on March 24; and the beloved Hoos’ Gow Day downtown on March 24.
