Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will close their gates early due to Hurricane Hilary as other Southern California theme parks shutter operations completely or try to tough it out during the severe tropical storm barreling up the Baja Peninsula.
The already downgraded category 1 hurricane is expected to weaken further to tropical storm strength by the time it makes landfall in Southern California late on Sunday, Aug. 20 and pushes inland on Monday, Aug. 21.

Disney California Adventure will close at 9 p.m., Disneyland will close at 10 p.m. and Downtown Disney will close 11 p.m. on Sunday due to the storm. Disneyland’s three hotels will remain open.
Knott’s Berry Farm and the adjacent Knott’s Soak City water park and California Marketplace will be closed on Sunday. Knott’s tickets dated for Sunday can be used any day throughout the rest of the year. Soak City tickets can be used through Oct. 1.

Six Flags Magic Mountain and the adjacent Hurricane Harbor water park will be closed on Sunday.
SeaWorld San Diego on Mission Bay and the Sesame Place San Diego water park in Chula Vista will be closed on Sunday. SeaWorld and Sesame Place will reschedule or refund previously booked reservations.
Legoland California, the Legoland water park and the adjacent SeaLife Aquarium will be closed on Sunday. Legoland’s two hotels will remain open.
Universal Studios Hollywood opened at 8 a.m. Sunday and planned to remain open until 10 p.m. The adjacent CiyWalk outdoor shopping mall also planned to maintain standard operating hours.
