Backpacks are donned, parents anxiously say their goodbyes — and with that, it’s time for a new school year.
Tens of thousands of students head back to school this week with many more set to enter the classroom next week.
Returning this week are students in the Anaheim Union High School District, Centralia School District, Cypress School District and Anaheim Elementary School District.
At Roosevelt Elementary on Thursday, Aug. 10, parents said their goodbyes at the front gate and peeked through holes in the front doors to watch their children enter the school.
Teddy, the affable mascot named for the school’s namesake, greeted new and returning students alike and helped music students play a song on their ukuleles.
Next week, students will head to the classroom in Brea Olinda Unified School District, Fullerton School District, Garden Grove Unified School District, Saddleback Valley Unified School District and Santa Ana Unified School District, to name a few.
