The Japanese American Community and Cultural Center presents the “Plaza Festival” — Aug. 19-20 — that includes entertainment, food and shopping, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 19; and on the second day, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 20 there will be a “Taiko Gathering,” with Japanese drum groups from across Southern California (Japanese American Community and Cultural Center, 244 S.
