A state-of-the-art health center is coming to North Hollywood.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion on Aug. 8 co-authored by Kathryn Barger and Lindsey P. Horvath to award a contract for nearly $75 million to a construction company to design and build a sprawling health center in North Hollywood.
Located a few blocks from the Metro Red Line in North Hollywood, the new 50,000 square-foot three-story health center will have an adjacent parking lot and will include examination rooms and laboratories along with outdoor community gardens, a wellness center, pharmacy and medical-legal department.
Patients will be offered services across the healthcare spectrum, including medical, mental health, and overall well-being services. The facility will also include phlebotomy stations, patient registration and staff break rooms that will be shared among different departments.
The single-story structure building at 5300 West Tujunga Blvd., which is currently occupied by a Department of Health Services clinic, will soon be demolished.
“This project will deliver critical services,” said Barger in a statement. “I will continue being vigilant to make sure this construction project comes in on time and on budget.”
The budget for the facility is estimated at about $93 million and will include design, construction, consultant and other services. The design and construction company Swinerton Builders will work on the project.
“The North Hollywood Health Center charts a new direction for integrated service delivery in L.A. County, bringing essential physical and mental healthcare and social services under one roof,” said Horvath in a statement. “It’s exciting to see this new model for patient-centered care move forward to bring the services of the County to the San Fernando Valley in a more holistic way.”
The center is expected to open its doors in the fall of 2026, according to Barger’s spokeswoman.
