Disneyland will pay tribute to the 1955 birth of the Anaheim theme park with after-hours dance parties that offer nods to the original fireworks show, retired rides, seldom-seen characters and throwback snacks.

The 1950s and ‘60s Throwback Nite after-hours parties will take place on April 18 and 20 at Disneyland.

Tickets for the Disneyland After Dark events go on sale Feb. 21 for Magic Key annual passholders and on Feb. 23 for the general public.

The separate admission events feature specialty-themed entertainment, character meet-and-greets, photo op backdrops, food and drinks, collectible merchandise, commemorative keepsakes and unlimited PhotoPass digital downloads along with select rides and shows.

Throwback Nite includes “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks that pay tribute to the 1957 pyrotechnics show, 1950s and ‘60s dance parties with live bands and DJs, photo backdrops of Skyway and other Yesterland attractions, nostalgic characters and 1955-inspired snacks.

Pre-party mix-in starts at 6 p.m. each night with the private event running from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. each evening. No theme park reservations are required to attend the separate-admission events. Parking is not included.

No word yet if and when any other Disneyland After Dark events will be announced for 2023. Disney has already hosted Valentines-themed Sweethearts’ Nites in February with Princess Nites planned for March and Star Wars Nites set for May. Less certain are the return of Disneyland After Dark parties themed to Villains, Pixar and Grad Night — which have come and gone through the years.
