Dodgers great Clayton Kershaw wound up and pitched kids on the joys of reading on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Los Angeles’ Edendale Branch Library.
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation hosted the event, during which the All-Star pitcher read to students participating in nearby summer recreation programs.
Kershaw read the book “Bigger Than Me,” written by Ann Higginbottom, and kids got to take home a copy, too.
Storytimes featuring Dodger players, former players, coaches and broadcasters are a part of LA Reads, a joint literacy program designed to motivate youth to build a lifelong love of reading.
