Anaheim Fire & Rescue is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraising event from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at its Station 10 in Anaheim Hills and the community is invited.
Visit and enjoy delicious pancakes, meet some of the firefighters, see fire-fighting equipment and learn helpful tips about the “Know Your Way” evacuation program for the Hills community.
The $5 per person donation will benefit the department’s EMT scholarship program.

Presbyterian Women’s raising awareness for WISEPlace
The Presbyterian Women’s group at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church will host a seashore-themed luncheon fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 12 in the church’s Fellowship Hall. And all women in the community are invited.
This special event benefits WISEPlace, a local nonprofit with a mission to end homelessness for all unaccompanied women. The organization offers women safe shelter, counseling and mental health services, case management and addiction recovery, as well as employment assistance enabling them to rebuild their lives. the lunch’s guest speaker will be Elizabeth Hendershot, the development manager for WISEPlace.
Each year the Presbyterian Women’s group select a charitable organization to support and do so in various ways. This year’s philanthropy, WISEPlace, has provided the group with a wish list and members have donated items from that list. There will be a raffle opportunity at the event with proceeds donated to WISEPlace.
Cost to attend is $30 per person. Anyone who would like to attend, should register at canyonhillspc.org.
Women’s Connection shares Aloha message
The Anaheim, Orange and Villa Park Women’s Connection is extending an invitation to all women in the community to attend its annual Aloha Celebration-themed luncheon on Aug. 14 at the Black and Gold Golf Club.
