Neighbors: Anaheim Family YMCA plans big annual party

This year’s Anaheim Family YMCA Gala is themed “An Evening of Inspiration and Intrigue” and the honoree is Bill Taormina.

The gala is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 4 at the Westin Anaheim Resort.  The event will include live performances by kids in the YMCA’s programs as well as live and silent auctions to fundraise for the programs and more.

Membership drive in full swing

Anaheim Beautiful has been active in the community for 50 years. These dedicated volunteers and members are tireless as they seek to improve the beauty of the city and preserve Anaheim for all of us.

Membership is now open for joining Anaheim Beautiful’s efforts. There are a number of membership categories that range from a $10 to a $100 donation.  For more information and to join the group, call 714-535-4105.

Tickets on sale for Mystery Authors Luncheon

The Anaheim Library Foundation once again hosting its always popular Mystery Authors Luncheon.

Guest authors will be David Putnam, George Fong and Rachel Howzell Hall.

Tickets are on sale now for the 26th annual luncheon, which includes a silent auction, on April 30; they are $75 per person or $700 for a table of 10.  Tickets can be purchased at mysteryauthorsluncheon.eventbrite.com.

The event will be presented at Sheraton Park Hotel, 1855 S. Harbor Blvd. Silent auction begins at 11 a.m. and the lunch and author program at 1 p.m.   For more information, check anaheimlibraryfoundation.com.

Help kids get to D.C.

Zion Lutheran Church is presenting its Western Gala on Feb. 25.

The 6 p.m. fundraiser at the church, 222 N. East St., will feature music and Western dancing, casino tables, an auction, a barbecue dinner and more.  All proceed will support the Washington, D.C. trip for seventh and eighth graders.
