Hamakom – the Place: The two Conservative Judaism congregations Temple Aliyah, in Woodland Hills, and Shomrei Torah Synagogue, in West Hills, have joined together to form Hamakom, that translates from Hebrew to mean “the place.” Rabbi Richard Camras (formerly of Shomrei Torah Synagogue) and Rabbi Stewart Vogel (formerly of Temple Aliyah) are jointly leading the new combined congregation. 818-346-3545.
