The California Highway Patrol was still investigating what caused a crash on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles late Thursday, June 17, that left four people dead inside a burning car near the Slauson Avenue onramp.
The car ended up overturned and was “fully ablaze” when firefighters arrived at the onramp of the southbound 110 at 11:43 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Fire crews doused the fire and found the bodies inside.
The L.A. County coroner’s office said they were still working on identifying the four victims.
The CHP said the car slammed into a barrier on the onramp. But why the driver lost control was not known.
