A BMW sedan driver struck and killed a motorcyclist in Northridge on Saturday afternoon and then left the scene of the collision, police said.
The fatal collision occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on Saturday on Roscoe Boulevard at Yolanda Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The BMW driver was apparently attempting a left-hand turn from eastbound Roscoe to Yolanda when the vehicle collided with a biker who was traveling west on Roscoe, police said.
The dark-colored BMW was gone by the time officers arrived. The motorcyclist — who police described as a man in his 30s — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are awaiting the notification of the biker’s next of kin before releasing his name.
No description of the BMW driver was immediately available.
