Mike Schade is retiring as the boys soccer coach at Sunny Hills, the school announced Thursday.
Schade coached the Lancers for 35 years as head coach and three years as an assistant coach. During his tenure as head coach, Sunny Hills won 17 league championships and CIF Southern Section titles in 2016 and ’22.
This season the Lancers advanced to the CIF-SS finals for the sixth time under Schade. They lost to JSerra 2-0 in the Division 1 championship game.
Schade was Orange County coach of the year in 2016 and was a CIF-SS coach of the year in 2016 and ’22.
