The Easter Bunny patiently waited while everyone settled down for a photo – a tradition that is playing out at malls throughout the region ahead of the holiday next month.
“Oh my God. They all have their own little personalities,” Kathy Taylor said after struggling to get her three little picture-takers into position. “Some are barkers, some are not; some are really docile, some are not.”
OK, so there was a bit of a twist to these traditional Easter Bunny photos: For one special recent evening the Brea Mall’s Bunny Photo Experience offered a pet’s night and Rick and Kathy Taylor of Corona had loaded up their three Maltese dogs and headed to Brea.
This night would be the last chance this year for the Taylors to have their dogs, Baxter, 15, Spencer, 6 months, and Cooper, 18 months, photographed with the Easter Bunny.
The mall’s Bunny Photo Experience, in which children and their families can have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny, runs daily through April 2.
Another couple, Ken and Suzie Eagle of La Habra Heights, brought their sibling puppy corgis, Jezebel and Rebel.
“Well, they were terrified, but they did better than I thought they would do and toward the end they were calming down and we got pretty good pictures,” Suzie Eagle said. In one photo, the corgis sitting on each side of the giant white bunny in a blue suit are looking right at the camera, both “smiling” with their tongues hanging out.
The Bunny Photo Experience’s next special event is Caring Bunny, a sensory-friendly experience for children with special needs, which will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 26. The Bunny Photo Experience is located on Brea Mall’s lower level in the Center Court. For hours, visit Bunny Photo Experience on the mall’s website.
